Over the last few weeks, heavy storms and power outages have kept me from watching american idol.

Fortunately, I was able to watch the the final show of the season.

I really wasn't surprised to see Jordin Sparks win. I think she really sealed her fate on the last song of the show.

I thought the season finale was a great production with alot of good artists and songs.

The only thing that seemed out of place was Taylor Hicks.

His singing wasn't very good. I still can't beleive he won last year.

Where is he now anyway?

Well I watched the American Idol Final 8 perform tonight and I can tell you that I wasn't overly impressed with any of them.

It really seemed like they were out of their element tonight.

I thought most of the songs were performed well, but not any of them were even close to what I would call competition type performances.

You could also tell that just about all of them were struggling to get the moves down while they were singing. I think they will need to get more experience under their belts before the moves don't look stiff.

I would have to say that the only one who really pulled it off tonight was Blake.

Just when you start to get into a rhythm something comes along and spoils your fun.

Nasty storms blew thru here for a couple of days and I shut it down because of the intense lightning.

I spent most of my time watching TV or DirectTV as we call it around here.

I noticed that some of channels changed up. I just happen to see the changes and I don't really know how many changed.

One of the shopping channels went away as did one of the religious channels.

We now have the Chiller Channel.

As you might expect by the name, they show Horror and Suspense movies and some of the old Horror series.

There you go 24/7 Horror and Suspense.

I'm probably one of the very few people in the entire world who hasn't really watched American Idol over the years.

Over the years, I have seen some of the clips from the tryouts but this was primarily in passing or happen chance.

It's amazing how things change when you are visiting your Mom for a few days.

Mom happens to be a huge American Idol fan.

When I was visitng Mom for a few days in 2006, American Idol was down to the top 12 and I ended up watching every American Idol episode.

Just so you know, my favorite for American Idol 2006 was Chris Duaghtry.
It broke my heart when he was voted off, but I knew he was going to be fine and apparently he his.

Here it is American Idol 2007 and I actually amazed myself by watching everything from the begining this year.

I think American Idol 2007 has better singers in the top running then the 2006 seasom did.

As I write this, the vote off is only an hour away and it will be interesting to see who goes tonight.

I know Sanjaya really, really needs to go. You can can tell that HE even knows that he isn't supposed to be there. Better singers have already been voted off.

I really don't have one this year. The one I liked didn't make it to the top 12.

Oh well. I think several of the American Idol 2007 singers are going to do well after this is all over and done with though.

We'll see.

I always have to commend Teachers for just being Teachers.

These people are doing a job that I personally would not do and if you have ever been to a school lately, you know how much of a mad house they can be.

I was watching the news the other night and saw something that did not sit quite right with me.

A male student was suspended for hugging a Student Aid.

That said it was inappropriate physical contact.

I know that your first thought might be that he deserved it, you know how 16 year olds can be - Hey! Watch those hands!

If the boy was 16 maybe or probably.

But OMG! the boy was 4 years old!

I don't know exactly everything that went on, but how inappropriate cn it be for a 4 year old to hug a Teacher or a Student Aid?

More then likely it was his way of saying 'Thank You'.

I wonder what kind of message we are sending to small kids these days.

Sure, there will be a time in his life when it is not appropriate for that kind of physical contact, but not at 4.

I have been busy updating some of the sites since I officially opend this one.

I uploaded the wrong script to one of them.
It wasn't really the wrong script, it was the wrong version.

I just did a total makeover of that site and was somewhat happy with it, but the script I uploaded changed the way it displayed and it did not look good.

I played with the template half a day and apparently I wasn't finding the right ones.

I went to plan "B"

Was I ever glad that I went to that plan. Now, I like the way it looks.
I am going to keep the look it has now.

Right now I am waiting for an upgrade script to change over on another site. Hopefully I won't have any problems with the change over.

I need that change to go smooth so I can get back over to this one and add a few things that will enhance this site.
